“Nails are made of up of non-living keratins that if they are left uncoated can flake or delaminate with wear and tear. Thin coating protects and also lets natural moisture and oil to migrate through.”-Angie Wingle CND Educator Ambassador
The easiest tip I say for those who are trying to grow out their nails is to make sure they are polished. It not only causes a thin but protectant coating to the nails, but seeing the nice manicure makes you less likely to pick or bite. Most nail polishes now are also “”3-Free” meaning free of yucky chemicals like Toluene, Formaldehyde, and DBP. Most major polish companies make it standard to be at least 3-free, and some companies go beyond, and are up to “5-Free”. Meaning its pretty safe to keep your piggies dipped in polish.
